Cornish Afternoon
On Tuesday 14th July 2015, year 6 JB will be holding a Cornish Afternoon as part of their £5 Challenge, organised by Young Enterprise and Virgin Money.
The aim of the challenge is to turn £5 into a profit. 50% of the profit we make will be donated to The Nepal Earthquake Appeal. The other 50% shall be donated to the school to buy an item to remember the year 6 children of 2014/2015.
The afternoon is open to all parents with an entry cost of just 50p. There will be stalls, activities and a raffle incorporating a Cornish theme. 
The raffle prizes, which were all kindly donated by local businesses include:
  • A fruit basket from Bedoes Greengrocers
  • A cream tea for two at The Fat Frog
  • £10 voucher from Affina Beauty Salon
  • A range of children's books donated by The Book Shop
  • Moisturiser and Body Lotion from Hands and Tans
  • A necklace from Spoilt for Choice
  • Bamboo socks and shopping tote from Bittersweet
  • and many more... 
Raffle tickets will cost 50p per strip
The stalls include:
  • Guess the name of the Cornish Teddy (50p entry)
  • Cornish Cream Teas (50p per cream tea)
  • Cornish Dancing (50p per child)
  • Cornish Story Telling (free)
  • Guess the weight of the Saffron Cake (donated by Barnecutts, 30p entry)
  • Cornish Friendship Bracelets (20p)
  • Cornish Facepainting (50p for full face, 10p per cheek)
  • Apple Juice tasting (donated by Cornish Orchards, 50p)
  • Colouring and story writing competition (20p per entry)
  • And many more...
